OLD TIME KENTUCKY RECIPES SOFT CUSTARD & HOE CAKE RECIPES

KENTUCKY SOFT CUSTARD

In a double broiler add:
2/3 cup milk
1 egg yolk
1/4 cup sugar
splash of vanilla
cook until slightly thickened.
Pour custard sauce in individual cups.
Chill.

KENTUCKY HOE CAKES - RECIPE
also called
CORNBREAD PANCAKES

1 cup buttermilk
1 cup self rising cornmeal
1 egg

mix together.
fry on a griddle like pan cakes.
